Who We Are
Our Vision
To Be A Family Of Rescued Sinners, Helping Others Find Rescue, Purpose, And Inclusion.
Our Mission
"Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20
Our Core Values
God’s People Honor God - We will bring honor to God by giving Him our best, striving for excellence, and upholding the integrity of the Bride of Christ which is the Church.
God’s People Reach People - We are in the business of rescuing lost people from the Gates of Hell because they matter to God, so they matter to us.
God’s People Stand on God’s Word - The Gospel changes lives; everything we do should point people back to the Gospel and be based in scriptural truths.
God’s People Love People - Christ says we will be known by how we love others, so we will strive to love all people both in and outside of the Church.
God’s People Are Generous People - We will be generous in the name of Christ through our finances, resources, talents, gifts, and Fruits of the Spirit.
God’s People Always Have Room For Adoption - We will always have another seat at the table to grow the Rescue Church Family.
God’s People Are Moving People - We will embrace change when it is beneficial or necessary to the advancement of the Gospel, while never sacrificing the truth of the Bible.
God’s People Are Growing People - We will actively make disciples and be discipled.
God’s People Are Called People - Our first priority will be spreading the Gospel in our mission field (our community). If we are doing that with health and sustainability, then we will begin chasing God to the next mission field (Church planting, Church revitalization, etc.).
God’s People Celebrate What God Has Done - We will always take time to celebrate the victories God has given us including salvations, baptisms, and milestones.
What We Believe
1. God We believe that there is only one true, living, and eternal God, consisting of three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 28:18-20).
2. The Bible We are a people of the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, supernaturally inspired at the time of its writing, preserved across time, cultures, and continents, delivered to us, useful for reproof and instruction and for righteousness. The Scripture is our backstop, the ultimate field of inquiry and judgment, the measure of conduct, faith, and practice. Whatever the question, whatever the test, whatever comes before us, in the end, it is the Scripture, above all other disciplines, that informs and defines us. All other sources of knowledge fall beneath its shadow (2 Timothy 3:14–17).
3. Humanity We believe that God created man and woman in His own image to bring Him honor through obedience and that when humankind disobeyed, they became fallen and sinful creatures unable to save themselves. We believe that all persons become accountable to God when they reach a state of moral responsibility (Genesis 1, Romans 3:10-26).
4. Salvation We believe that salvation (regeneration, sanctification, justification and redemption) has been provided for all mankind through the redemptive work (life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession) of Jesus Christ and that this salvation can be received only through the God-given ability to believe in the work and reality of Christ followed by the repentance, confession, and commitment of the individual (John 3, Romans 10:1-13).
5. Assurance We believe that those who abide in Christ have the assurance of salvation. We believe that with salvation the grace of God covers the sins of the individual past, present, and future. However, we also believe that Christians retain their freedom of choice and the salvation of the individual will be obvious by their actions and how they live their lives (Romans 5:12-21, James 1:23-27).
6. Holiness The Person, the work, and the power of the Holy Spirit is fundamental to who we are as a people. We unabashedly own the truth that the Spirit can transform us, possess us, equip us, and empower us. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that sanctifies us, makes us holy, sets us apart for sacred service, and seals us for eternity’s sake. It is the Spirit that convicts us of sin and enables us to overcome sin. It is the Holy Spirit that can breathe supernatural gifts into us for Jesus’ sake. He is the Comforter promised by Jesus and the witness of our redemption. We believe that the public expression of the power and the gifts of the Holy Spirit should be done in a biblical manner and in such a way that they edify the saints and do not cause others to stumble in their faith journeys (Gal 5:22–23, John 14:15-18, John 7:37-39, Romans 14:13-23).
7. Christian Duties We believe that Christians should live faithfully by serving in and through the local Church, praying diligently, witnessing earnestly, practicing tolerance (within biblical boundaries), showing loving kindness, giving as God prospers, and conducting themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God (John 13:34-35, Matthew 22:34-40).
8. The Church We believe that the Church Universal is the Body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers, and that its members have been called out from the world to come under the dominion and authority of Christ, its head. We believe that a local Church is a fellowship of Christians, a part of the Body of Christ, voluntarily banded together for discipleship, evangelization, worship, nurture, and service (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Acts 4:32-37).
9. Ordinances We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed by Christians only. We also believe that the biblical model of water baptism is immersion and that participation in the Lord’s Supper should be open to all Christians. We believe that the practice of foot washing is a good and accepted act of worship to God; however, we do not require its adherence nor condemn those who do not practice or participate. We believe the example Jesus was setting in His action of washing the disciples’ feet was to teach us to humbly serve others, not necessarily the requirement of the specific action of foot washing (Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 22:14- 20).
10. Last Things We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ and in the bodily resurrection of the dead. We believe that God will judge all mankind by Jesus Christ, that He will reward the righteous (those who have accepted the Free Gift of Salvation found in Christ) with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to an eternity separated fully from God and His grace, commonly known as Hell.
